US flight diverted as crew members get into fist fight!
Chicago, Feb 2 , 2016, PTI:
In a bizarre incident in the US, a Delta Airlines Boeing plane was diverted after a mid-air fist fight between two women flight attendants over "work issues".
Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200 from Los Angeles to Minneapolis was en route when the captain decided to divert the aircraft to Salt Lake City telling air traffic control that he wanted to "hear from his flight attendants".
The incident took place on January 22 and was reported by the Aviation Herald that reports about incidents and critical situations in the civil aviation companies. The plane was about 290 km south of Salt Lake City when the decision was made to divert the jet.
Two flight attendants disagreed over "work issues" and engaged in a fist fight while a third lady trying to calm the other two down was hit by the flying fists, it was reported. The purser informed the flight deck and the captain decided to divert. The aircraft landed safely on Salt Lake City's runway about 40 minutes after leaving.
A passenger reported that three cabin crew were sent off due to "bad behaviour". The airline subsequently sent a letter of apology to passengers stating that, "some of our team members did not display their best behaviour. We expect our flight crew to be nothing but courteous and professional at all times and what you experienced was far from that. I am sorry we didn't deliver on our brand promise for you today."
The aircraft remained on the ground for about 80 minutes, then continued the flight reaching Minneapolis with a delay of 75 minutes.
