Violence erupted in Outer Delhi’s Shahbad Dairy after a 25-year-old youth was found hanging in a forest in the early hours of Monday.
Questioning the police’s line of investigation suspecting the case to be one of suicide, family members staged a protest at National Highway-1 demanding that a murder case be registered. No suicide notes were recovered from the spot, added the police.
The protesters went on to damage a few buses on Monday morning before police used mild force to contain them.
The deceased, identified as Sudhir Kumar, was pursuing a diploma in architecture after passing out of school and worked as an interior decorator at a private company in Central Delhi.
According to his family, Sudhir had left home on Sunday afternoon and had gone missing. When he did not return and his phone was unreachable, they filed a missing complaint.
