Amidst the huge crowd of the Chhath Puja rush, a baby was delivered at a platform of New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday evening.
The incident took place at around 9.30 p.m. on Saturday at platform number 6 when a woman passenger who was travelling out of Delhi gave birth to a baby. “The delivery was assisted by a railway doctor and the passenger was taken to the Northern Railway central hospital,” said Arun Arora, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division, Northern Railway.
Railways is geared up to manage the unprecedented rush this time, thanks to which a large number of security personnel and a medical-aid team were readily available at the time of the incident.
