A private group aiming to improve sanitation conditions in India organised the Delhi Chapter of their global event “The Urgent Run” in Delhi University’s Ramjas College on Saturday.
The Flush Mob’s event, endorsed by UN-Water on behalf of the World Toilet Organization, focused on different aspects of the sanitation crisis, showcased through compelling art forms including music, dance, photography, puppetry and various forms of street art.
At Ramjas College, 250 students from schools and colleges participated in various sanitation-based creative activities, including doodling, drawing and creative relays.
Students painted people living in slums relieving themselves on the railway track, bad sanitation conditions, etc. Workshops were also organised by experts in puppetry, dancing and pottery.
“The idea is to spread awareness about the existing crisis on global sanitation,” said Saptarishi Roy, one of the event organisers.
