PCL from November 26

The fifth Parikrma Champions League (PCL) -- an U-16 inter-school football tournament -- will kick off at the HMT Sports Club, Jalahalli, here from Nov 26 to 28.
As in the previous editions, sixteen teams will battle it out for the Equality Cup. Out of these, fourteen are from Bengaluru while one school each from Kerala and Puducherry complete the list.
After the league stage, the top eight teams will advance to the quarterfinals. The matches will have two halves of 20 minutes each till the quarterfinal stage, after which it will be extended by 10 minutes.
“Each year we have grown. Through this platform, we not only want to keep the spirit and passion of the sport alive but persistently shed light on the importance and benefits of sports in school,’’ said Shukla Bose, founder and CEO of the Parikrma Humanity Foundation.
A Parikrma All-Star team will be selected from the tournament from the 16 teams. They will take on CEOs of Bengaluru’s leading companies in a 20-minute exhibition match on the final day.
The teams: Ryan International, Inventure Academy, Greenwood High International School, Indus International School, St Aloysius School, St Joseph’s Boys High School, Vidya Niketan School, St Francis De Sales School, St Patrick’s High School, Stonehill Government High School, DPS East, DPS North, TISB, Parikrma Center for Learning, ONGC School (Pondicherry), Farook High School (Kerala).
