The U.S. Republican presidential said he would support a 45 percent tariff to offset devaluation.
U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump called for higher tariffs on Chinese goods if China does not stop engaging in practices to devalue their currency.
Mr. Trump said he would support a 45 percent tariff to offset devaluation.
Mr. Trump also criticised Japan, saying the nation is engaging in similar practices and pointed to competition between American Caterpillar Inc tractors and those made by Japan's Komatsu Ltd.
"We are letting them get away with it, and we can't let them get away," Mr. Trump said.
