As per a notification by the State Labour and Employment Department, wages of unskilled workers have been raised to Rs.280 from Rs.150 per day earlier.
Wages for skilled workers have been hiked to Rs.350 from Rs.208, and for semi-skilled to Rs.280 from Rs.150 earlier.
The State government also introduced a new segment called highly skilled job and earmarked Rs.450 per day for this class of workers.
The notification to the effect entitled employees and workers to ‘Variable Dearness Allowance’ at 100 per cent over the rise and fall of index point in the All India Consumer Price Index. - PTI
