The agency alleges that Robert Vadra’s Sky Light Hospitality is one such company which had acquired 470 acre land.
Apart from carrying out searches on a Delhi premises, the Directorate has also served a notice on a steel company which had extended a loan of Rs. 5.64 crore to one of the firms under investigation.
For his part, Mr. Vadra on Tuesday refuted charges of his involvement. “Here they go again, whenever they get insecure, they concoct some false accusations on me. The nation is not misguided by their tactics anymore,” he said on his Facebook page.
The case is related to “illegal” allotment of about 1,372 bigha government land in 34 villages in the name of the farmers who were displaced due to land acquisition by the government for the Army’s Mahajan Field Firing Range.
The land was acquired by the government in 1982-83 for the firing range, following which provisions were made for alternative allotments to the displaced villagers in other parts of Bikaner in 1992-96.
