The BJP is planning to corner the Delhi government on a list of issues including unauthorised colonies and tabling the Fourth Finance Commission report, in the upcoming Delhi Assembly session.
The BJP legislators have already issued a notice to the Secretary of the Assembly for discussion on 10 issues of “urgent public importance”.
Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta said the party “will make most out of the session” which begins from Wednesday. “The decisions taken in the Vidhan Sabha will have potential for changing the present trend of Kejriwal government’s ill-governance, insensitivity and lack of direction. The BJP will leave no stone unturned in shaking the CM, his ministers and legislators out of their inertia and lethargy,” Mr. Gupta said. BJP MLAs Om Prakash Sharma, Jagdish Pradhan and Mr Gupta held a meeting on Monday to devise a strategy for the session. Mr Sharma asserted that they will take the government to task for not taking action against its MLA S.K. Bagga despite audio tape establishing his corruption.
The MLA from Rohini, also said that the BJP has issued six private resolutions covering important issues such as permission for spending funds of MLAs and Councillors.
“We will ask for immediate action on financial assistance to three municipal corporations, implementation of Right to Citizens to Time-bound Delivery of Services Act – 2011 and seek verification of all the 70 MLAs,” he said.
