The Delhi Congress on Thursday said that the Aam Aadmi Party government should pass the same draft of the Jan Lokpal Bill in the ongoing winter session, which was tabled before the Delhi Assembly on February 13, 2014.
A senior Congress leader said there was no clarity about the contents of the draft Bill, which was discussed and cleared by the Delhi Cabinet. The Congress will not allow a watered-down version of the Jan Lokpal Bill, the leader added.
“If the Kejriwal government’s intention was to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill, it would not have waited for nine months and six Assembly sessions to take up the issue. The Cabinet took a hasty decision to table the Bill because it is under pressure,” a senior Congress leader said.
