CPI(M) demands compensation for relatives of slain villagers
CPI (M) has that demanded families of each of the three innocent villagers gunned down by security forces during combing operations in Karlapat forest in Odisha’s Kalahandi district to be provided compensation worth 25 lakh rupees.
CPI (M) members have handed over a memorandum addressed to Odisha Chief Minister regarding it at the office of the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC), southern division in Berhampur. CPI (M) leader Kailash Sadangi alleged that similar incidents of atrocities on poor tribals and dalits living in remote areas by security forces is on the rise.
Three, including a panchayat ward member, were killed and two minors were seriously injured when police and SOG jawans opened fire on them on Nov 15 mistaking them to be Maoists.
