A 35-year-old manager working for a Noida-based real estate company was found dead at his Safdurjung Enclave residence on Wednesday.
Even though the post-mortem report is awaited, based on the injury marks on the body of the victim Vishwanath Singh, the South District police have registered a case of murder and have initiated a probe.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Prem Nath said that a murder case has been registered because the death seemed to be unnatural as there were injury marks on the man’s hands and throat.
Singh, an IT manager, shared a rented accommodation with one Satyam Dubey who worked as an admin manager at the same company. Neighbours told the police that since Dubey had gone to his hometown for Chhath celebrations, Vishwanath was staying alone.
When Vishwanath did not report for work on Wednesday and his phone was found switched off, one of his colleagues, Pradeep Kumar, reached his house around 4 p.m.
“He found the door open and the room ransacked with Singh lying on the floor. He immediately informed the police. He was rushed to Safdurjung Hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead’,” said the officer.
