Rawat declares assets before PCC chief
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat and his wife Renuka own movable and immovable assets worth nearly Rs 5.5 crore; they have liabilities including loans worth Rs 2 crore.
In a declaration submitted to Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay, the Chief Minister said he owns movable property worth 1.64 crore, two rooms in the jointly owned ancestral house at Mohnari village of Almora district and a plot of land worth Rs 75 lakh at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.
The Chief Minister is the first Congress MLA in the State to declare his assets before the party leadership and he has set an example for other party legislators to follow suit, Mr Upadhyay said.
The PCC chief had recently asked all party MLAs to declare their assets before the state leadership.
In his declaration, Mr Rawat has stated that he has two gold and one silver rings besides fixed and other bank deposits worth Rs 1.42 crore. On March 31, 2015 he had Rs 15,573 in his savings bank account in State Bank of India’s Parliament House branch.
He has a current account in Nainital bank’s Dharchula branch in which he had an amount of Rs 3,18,823 on May 29. The Chief Minister also has National Savings Certificates (NSC) worth Rs 6 lakh and three Life Insurance Policies with an assured sum of Rs 12 lakh each.
He has taken a loan of Rs 50,20,034 from SBI’s Parliament House branch, the declaration states.
Chief Minister’s wife Renuka Rawat owns property worth nearly Rs 3.05 crore. She has gold jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh and has invested Rs 22.42 lakh in bank savings including fixed deposits.
She has NSCs worth Rs 1 lakh and five LIC policies with an assured sum of Rs 18 lakh each. -- PTI
