4-year old male leopard trapped in Mandya district

A four-year-old male leopard was caught in a Forest department trap laid at a farm in Natanahalli of KR Pet taluk in the district on Wednesday night.
Following complaints from local residents that the leopard was preying on livestock in the surrounding villages, the department had placed a trap at a farm belonging to Jalendra.
In a struggle to free itself from the cage, the leopard sustained injuries on its face and legs. The leopard was shifted to Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens in Mysuru.
Range Forest Officer Raghavendra said it will be treated for injuries and will be released into the forest after discussing the issue with higher officials.
