Tamil Nadu to get more rain
Chennai: Dec 24, 2015, DHNS
In a reminder that the north-east monsoon is still at its last leg, fresh spell of rains have been predicted over Tamil Nadu in the next two days.
The news is sure to trigger anxiety in a state that has just returned to total normality with the flood-hit regions, including capital Chennai, experiencing dry weather.
However, the latest Met department bulletin on Wednesday evening forecasts rains over Tamil Nadu, especially in the coastal region, from December 27.
Rain or thundershowers would occur at many places in coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and at a few places over south interior Tamil Nadu, the bulletin said.
Moderate to heavy rains has been predicted at many places over Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Ramanathapuram, Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts, while light to moderate rains could be seen at few places over Sivapaya, Virudhunagar, Theni, Dindigul and Madurai.
Dry weather
Though the Met department predicts a largely dry weather for the next three days, fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea as winds at a speed of 45-55 KMPH would blow in north-easterly direction on and off the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast for the next 48 hours.
